ESB was founded in 1953, pioneering the practice and assessment of oral communication and its fundamental importance to education. ESB has grown into an international organisation which assesses extensively in Great Britain, in European countries such as Italy and Spain, and throughout the Far East. |

How does ESB assess? An external examiner from ESB's national team conducts the assessment within a small student peer group, encouraging and supportive. |

Every candidate in the participating group demonstrates listening and responding skills, as well as their own competence as a speaker. Everybody taking part in an ESB assessment becomes fully involved, both in presenting their own material and as a member of the audience. |
