Students bored? Students need stretching?

Accredited, fundable Foundation level syllabuses are now available from ESB  which will boost confidence and improve communication skills.  Read on........

What about students who receive Learning Support? Or are your learners in a mixed Family Learning or Community groups?
The ESB Entry Level Awards in Communication provide this in FUNDABLE stepped Entry level qualifications designed to demonstrate progression, available at all Entry levels. These are now on the QCF,
 and fundable within Foundation Learning.

ESB Entry Level Awards are intended for students who are working at Entry Level in other areas of the curriculum, whether in mainstream or specialist units, including those with mild or more severe learning or behavioural difficulties. The top level is an ideal launching pad for mainstream vocational courses.

All ESB assessments are carried out by experienced external assessors who come to your centre, and tutors are strongly encouraged to be present, making the assessment environment as familiar and relaxed as possible. Outcomes are graded Pass or Unsuccessful, with a full written report for each individual learner. The age range is usually 16—60 years, but the tasks may be adapted to fit both learner and learning environment.

YPLA and Foundation Learning
The YPLA have updated their guide on Foundation Learning which confirms that providers can ‘deliver any qualification that is valid for funding on the LAD at entry level and level 1 with the exception of Key Skills' which confirms that Foundation Learning is no longer restricted to QCF qualifications. The guide can be viewed here: A Guide to Funding Foundation Learning

ESB Entry Level Awards are fundable within Foundation Learning and accredited on The Register of Regulated Qualifications - The Register: the full list of qualification awards. http://register.ofqual.gov.uk/Qualification

ESB's new and revised Entry Level Awards are all available for use NOW.

Aims: All ESB Entry level awards are designed to develop life and work skills, by encouraging interactive oral communication. Each student is unique - in an ESB assessment each one shares practical, manual and creative skills with peers.

All our users comment on the opportunities provided by these ESB awards for individual choice, as well as the way the assessments build student confidence and self esteem.

Some awards concentrate on working in groups and others focus on community living and the world of work, journey planning, performing and creative arts.

Still unsure if this applies to YOUR particular students? Contact ESB's Foundation Learning syllabus manager and discuss your needs.
