Become an Examiner/Assessor
ESB’s broad educational philosophy - Every Student Benefits – is promoted by its assessor/examiners, who are trained to support effective communication throughout the wide-ranging oral assessments. ESB assessor/examiners encourage, listen to, question and assess candidates against ESB criteria, and produce a written report on each candidate.
ESB seeks applicants with appropriate experience to join its strong Assessor/Examiner panel. We are particularly looking for assessors in the South East of the UK, including London, Kent and Surrey.
Requirements
- Minimum 6-8 weekdays (average) per month
- Graduate, or relevant national qualification
- Successful teaching experience
- Awareness of current, relevant national educational standards, requirements and developments
Requirements for potential ESOL Assessors
- For ESOL examining, minimum TESOL/TEFL/CELTA
- Familiarity with National ESOL Core Curriculum
Preferred
- TDLB Assessor Award
- proven experience in preparing candidates for ESB assessments.
Personal Qualities
- A genuine interest in and respect for people
- Warmth of personality, with sense of humour, sincerity and sensitivity
- An open attitude, free from prejudice, showing patience and understanding
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written
